Promoting the wellness of our students, friends, families, co-workers, and fellow citizens and helping prevent suicide is every person’s responsibility. To learn more about suicide prevention, take a FREE 30-minute online training course for the UA community called Ask, Listen, Refer.
There are three steps anyone can learn to help prevent suicide. Another longer and in-person program offering is Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR). To sign up for FREE QPR Gatekeeper Training for Suicide Prevention for your department, team, or group please contact the Counseling Center at 348-3863 or request this training through our online program request form. You can also sign up for individual QPR training below as part of our QPR workshop series.

Talk Saves LivesTM is standardized suicide prevention and awareness program provided by The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. From their website: “provides participants with a clear understanding of this leading cause of death, including the most up-to-date research on suicide prevention, and what they can do in their communities to save lives. Participants will learn common risk factors and warning signs associated with suicide, and how to keep themselves and others safe.”

The Counseling Center hosts a “Mind Matters” workshop throughout the academic year. Every workshop focuses on a different topic that students may face or struggle with during their college experience, such as poor sleep, academic anxiety, healthy relationship boundaries, and depression. Each workshop is 1 hour in length and there are options for in-person and zoom. Follow the link for more information about dates and topics. These workshops are available for Greek Points.
